Authorship

All authors must have made a substantial contribution to the work and approved the submitted version. Changes to authorship after submission require agreement of all authors.

Research ethics

Studies involving human participants, animals or sensitive data must have received appropriate ethical approval, which should be stated in the manuscript.

Data and materials

Authors must make the data, code and materials supporting their conclusions available to readers, and must state where they can be found.

Competing interests

All authors must declare any financial or non-financial competing interests.

Corrections and retractions

We publish corrections when errors affect the scientific record and retractions when results are unreliable. Notices are linked to the original article.
